Interview questions built from what the CV does not prove
A gap in a CV is not a rejection. It is the next question to ask, with a guide to what a good answer sounds like.
What is an interview kit in TalentsGrid?
An interview kit in TalentsGrid is a set of questions drawn from the job and from one candidate's gaps, critical ones first. Each question comes with a guide to what a weak, fair and strong answer sounds like. A gap is marked unproven, not failed, so the interview becomes the place to find out.
What is an interview kit?
A short list of questions for one candidate and one job. Some questions come from the job itself. Others come from the gaps in that candidate's CV: skills the CV does not show, claims with no measured result. Critical gaps come first.
How does TalentsGrid turn a CV gap into a question?
When scoring finds a requirement the CV does not prove, it is marked "Not proven by the CV". The kit then asks about it directly. Example for a missing CI/CD signal: "Walk me through how code got from a pull request to production on your last team. What did you automate yourself?" For a vague performance claim: "Tell me about a page you made faster. How did you measure it before and after?"
What are weak, fair and strong answer guides?
Each question lists what each level of answer sounds like, so you do not need to be an engineer to judge one.
| Level | What it sounds like (CI/CD example) |
|---|---|
| Weak | Someone else handled deploys. Can't name the tools. |
| Fair | Used the pipeline and wrote some tests, but didn't set it up. |
| Strong | Set up the pipeline, explains the tradeoffs and shows tests that caught real bugs. |
Is a gap a reason to reject a candidate?
No. The CV not showing a skill is not proof the person lacks it. TalentsGrid marks it unproven, and you probe it. The decision to move a candidate forward or not stays with you.
Who is this for?
Recruiters who screen roles they have not done themselves, such as React, QA or DevOps hires for an outsourcing company, and freelance headhunters who want to ask sharp questions in a first call.
What do I do with the kit?
Use it in the interview, or share the questions with the hiring manager before the call. After the interview, the copilot can summarise it. Each of these AI steps costs 1 credit. See plans and credits.
Frequently asked questions
Are interview questions generated for every candidate?
You generate a kit for a candidate when you want one. It draws on the job's requirements and that candidate's gaps, with critical gaps first, so two candidates for the same role get different kits. Building a kit costs 1 credit.
How is a kit different from a generic list of interview questions?
A generic list asks everyone the same things. A kit starts from the job and from one candidate's CV, so it asks about the exact skills that CV did not prove. Every question also has a weak, fair and strong answer guide, so you can judge answers without being an expert in the field.
Does the AI score the interview or choose the candidate?
No. The kit helps you ask and listen. The copilot can summarise an interview afterwards, but moving a candidate to the next stage, shortlisting or rejecting is your action, and it waits for your approval. AI recommends, you decide, and the activity log records what the AI did.
Does it work in Vietnamese?
Yes. The copilot answers in the language you write in, so you can get questions and answer guides in Vietnamese or English. Technical terms like CI/CD or pull request usually stay in English inside Vietnamese text, as in real interviews.
