CV scoring where every score shows its evidence

Score your next CV in seconds. Each requirement has a weight, each match has a quote, and the final number comes from fixed math.

How does TalentsGrid score a CV?

TalentsGrid scores a CV against the requirements of your job. Each requirement has a weight, each match lists the signals found in the CV, and each covered responsibility carries a quote. If the AI claims a match the profile cannot support, that match is thrown out. The final score is 60% skills and 40% responsibilities.

Three steps from CV to score

The AI reads the CV and the job. It finds evidence for each requirement. Plain code then turns that evidence into a score, the same way every time. You see the breakdown, requirement by requirement.

Scoring one CV against a job takes about 1.5 seconds. That figure is for the scoring step only, not for reading a CV into a profile.

What do core, important, supporting and minor mean?

Every job is split into skill areas, and each gets a weight: core 1.0, important 0.7, supporting 0.4, minor 0.15. A missing nice-to-have barely moves the score. A missing core skill moves it a lot. You can change any grade in plain words, and the change is saved as a new criteria version.

How can I check where a score comes from?

Open the breakdown. For a skill, you see the signals found in the CV. For a responsibility, you see a quote from the work history, for example "Built and maintained the shared component library adopted by 3 squads." A requirement the CV never mentions shows as "Not proven by the CV".

Can the AI make up a match?

It can try, and the code catches it. If the AI calls a skill a match but no sign of it appears anywhere in the profile, the match is thrown out before the score is calculated. This is the bluff guard.

What happens when a must-have is missing?

Responsibilities marked critical count double. Miss one and the responsibility half of the score cannot pass 50. A candidate from the wrong field entirely stays under 40 overall. A strong CV on the wrong job should not look like a shortlist candidate.

What does the math look like?

Skills fit is a weighted average of how well each requirement is proven. Responsibilities fit is a weighted average of covered, partly covered and not covered duties. Final score: 60% skills plus 40% responsibilities. No model decides the number, so rescoring the same evidence gives the same result.

Can I compare candidates and change my mind later?

Put two to five candidates side by side with proven strengths, gaps to probe and a written takeaway. Tell the copilot "TypeScript is a must. Testing matters less." and the shortlist re-ranks. If some candidates were scored on an older version of the criteria, the AI will not name a winner until you rescore them.

Does the AI decide who gets rejected?

No. A gap is marked unproven, not failed, and becomes an interview question. Moving a candidate, creating a record or sending an email waits for your approval. The AI activity log shows each call, the model that ran and the credit cost.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is AI CV scoring?

Accuracy depends on how well the CV states what the person did, so TalentsGrid shows its evidence instead of a bare number. You read the quote, then agree or not. The rules are fixed: weighted requirements, a bluff guard and capped scores for critical gaps. We do not publish an accuracy percentage.

Does the score change if I rescore the same CV?

The scoring math does not change. AI finds evidence, and the score is computed by code from that evidence with fixed weights. Evidence extraction by a language model can vary a little between runs, so check the quotes. Criteria are versioned, so you always know which version produced a score.

How many credits does it cost to score a CV?

Scoring a CV against a job costs 1 credit, and collecting the quote evidence for responsibilities costs 1 more. Reading the CV into a profile is a separate 1-credit step. Each AI step costs 1 credit on every plan, and each step is billed on its own.

Can I edit the requirements the AI extracted from my JD?

Yes. You can change grades, add or remove requirements and make a skill a must-have in plain words. Each change shows as a preview with what changed and what was added, and it is saved as a criteria version you can apply, re-rank with or undo.

Does it score CVs in Vietnamese?

Yes. The app and the copilot work in Vietnamese and English, and quotes are taken from the CV in its original language, so you do not need to translate a CV before you upload it.

Are my CVs used to train AI models?

No. TalentsGrid does not use your CVs to train AI models. CVs stay in your own Google Drive or in TalentsGrid storage, as you choose, and you can export your candidates as CSV at any time.
